Tottenham icon Pat Jennings was reportedly taken to hospital after collapsing prior to Spurs\u2019 Premier League defeat by Chelsea on Monday. The former goalkeeper, who also enjoyed eight years with north London rivals Arsenal, is claimed to have been taken to a local hospital after falling ill at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n
It is reported that Jennings fell ill prior to watching Spurs’ clash with rivals Chelsea. The 78-year-old supposedly collapsed and was seen by stadium medics.<\/p>\n
Jennings was then taken to a local hospital where he received further medical care. According to the Daily Mail, the Northern Ireland legend is said to have been feeling better later on Monday night.<\/p>\n
The former shot-stopper made a whopping 472 appearances for Spurs between 1964 and 1977. He also enjoyed spells with north London rivals Arsenal, with whom he won the FA Cup in 1979. The Newry-born star, who played at the 1982 World Cup, began his career at Watford.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the same publication over the weekend, he discussed his infamous ability to clutch the ball with one hand in mid-air.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI was brought up with Gaelic football because I went to a Catholic school and we weren\u2019t allowed to play soccer.<\/p>\n \u201cI played in midfield, competing for the ball when it came from the back and transferring it to the forwards so you\u2019re taking all the knocks and competing against everybody with the hands.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I started playing serious soccer there were crosses coming in and people trying to head it and I\u2019m three foot above them like.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
