I felt the same in the first game (1-0 defeat at home). That\u2019s not to take anything away from Dortmund, who have played us really well in the last two games. You have to give them a lot of credit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Today\u2019s task was huge for us and, ultimately, we weren\u2019t good enough. I\u2019m disappointed. I always am when two things come together, you don\u2019t perform at your best and you lose. Those two things are a double whammy for me. We are probably going to have to win our last two games now.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/07\/22\/77528165-12722631-image-m-58_1699396560155.jpg\" height=\"449\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Eddie Howe struggled to explain why his Newcastle side struggled to perform in Germany<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/07\/22\/77528167-12722631-image-a-59_1699396591452.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Borussia Dortmund ran out deserved 2-0 winners to move top of Group F<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/07\/22\/77528169-12722631-image-a-60_1699396613425.jpg\" height=\"439\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Joelinton missed a huge chance at 1-0, and Newcastle now may need to win their last two matches to have a chance of progressing to the last 16<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Joelinton headed wide from a few yards out at 1-0, and Howe said: \u2018I thought it was a really good move and he would back himself to score that if the chance came again. It is the key moment in the game from our perspective.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Howe was without 12 senior players and could only name eight substitutes &#8211; including two goalkeepers &#8211; instead of 11.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think we\u2019ve lost the ability to make certain decisions,\u2019 said Howe, who also lost Callum Wilson to a tight hamstring at half-time. \u2018In a sense, I\u2019m being forced to make certain decisions and pick certain teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Looking at Anthony Gordon (on at half-time), he played for 90 minutes against Arsenal and gave absolutely everything physically, and I think the turnaround for him was just too quick.
