Erik ten Hag’s position at Man Utd is being questioned by some

Manchester United supporters have been called to rally together and conduct their latest major protest against the Glazer family at Old Trafford on Saturday. Fan group The 1958 are organising a new demonstration of the fanbase’s opposition against the Glazers before this weekend’s Premier League clash against Luton Town.

The unpopular American owners sparked hope that they were ready to walk away from United by announcing a ‘strategic review’ 12 months ago.

But Joel and Avram, at least, look set to remain at the helm after Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani withdrew his £5bn offer for 100 per cent of the club.

Instead, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is in advanced talks with the Glazers over purchasing a 25 per cent stake for £1.4billion.

The INEOS founder is expected to inherit total control of United’s sporting operations and appoint new faces in important positions, including chief executive and director of football.

However, that’s not enough for much of the United fanbase, who won’t rest until the Glazers have cashed in their final shares.

October’s financial results revealing the club’s latest debt stood at £507.3m, with a further £106m drawn down on their revolving credit facility, hasn’t helped settle the discontent.

And after a brief break to respect and mourn the loss of Sir Bobby Charlton, arguably United’s biggest icon, The 1958 have put plans into action to resume protests against the Glazers.

“We believe the last 12 months has proved beyond any doubt that the Glazers only care about one thing – cold hard cash,” The 1958 spokesman Steve Crompton said.

“They are not fit to be custodians of one of the world’s most iconic football institutions. But they cannot buy the love we hold for OUR club.”

Crompton insisted the fight to remove the Glazers from United was still in ‘full force’ and detailed plans for Saturday.
