Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly left staff stunned by working 12-hour days to fix the Red Devils’ woeful form. The Dutchman has been spending most of his days at the club’s Carrington training complex in a bid to overturn a dismal start to the season.

A narrow 1-0 victory over Luton on Saturday ensured there was no hangover from a dismal 4-3 Champions League defeat against Copenhagen last week. Ten Hag’s job is hanging by a thread due to some awful form in the Premier League and in Europe.

Three points this weekend have elevated United into sixth in the top-flight. But they have lost five of their opening 12 matches, in addition to three reverses in the Champions League.

Ten Hag has been keen to prove that he is the long-term solution to United’s problems. The 53-year-old has reportedly left staff stunned by working 12-hour days at the club’s training ground.

A source allegedly told the newspaper: “Nobody can accuse Ten Hag of a lack of effort.

“He’s been coming in very early and leaving very late, sometimes not leaving until 7.30pm. The Red Devils had lost three of their previous four matches before welcoming the Hatters, including successive 3-0 home defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle.
