Manchester United’s stance on letting Mason Greenwood leave after his Getafe loan spell has attracted the interest of rival Premier League clubs, according to reports. Greenwood is currently enjoying a rich vein of form in La Liga, with the 22-year-old scoring his latest goal in Getafe’s victory over Almeria on Saturday.

The United loanee has managed four goals in all competitions so far this season and will be hoping to keep impressing in the final third until the end of the campaign. What lies ahead for him after that is less certain, though, given United’s insistence that he will never play for them again.

It seems as though a number of Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Greenwood as he gears up for another move away from Old Trafford next summer. He has been watched by several scouts over the course of this season, according to AS, with a handful of representatives thought to have been in attendance on Saturday.

There was no interest in Greenwood from other Premier League sides during the summer window, paving the way for Getafe to offer him a fresh start away from England’s top flight. It was reported that at least two Championship clubs held discussions with United regarding a move for Greenwood before deciding against taking their interest any further.

His strike against Almeria from the edge of the box has already been labelled a goal of the season contender in Spain, while Getafe boss Jose Bordalas was quick to sing his praises after the final whistle.

“We have been working with Mason since he arrived with a lot of patience, working on timing,” he explained. “You all know that he has not played for two years. There has been a very big deficit and he is recovering with the help of everyone. The credit belongs to everyone.
