Hellas Verona forward Cyril Ngonge produced a brilliant bicycle kick that Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho would have been proud of.

Ngonge, 23, scored the goal of the weekend for Hellas Verona in their 3-3 Serie A draw away at Udinese on Sunday. The former Belgium U19 international levelled the scores at two a piece on the hour mark as he threw himself through the air to make contact with Tomas Suslov’s cross.

The ball in from the byline on the left-hand side hung in the air and saw Ngonge have to check his run to meet the flight of the ball. While Garnacho’s wondergoal against Everton saw him in space, Ngonge had to beat four Udinese players to the ball on the edge of the six-yard box.

Ngonge made perfect connection as his shot fired into the top corner, sending him and his team-mates sprinting to the Hellas fans in the crowd. Surely doing Ngonge’s chances of a maiden senior Belgium call up no harm ahead of the Euro next summer in Germany.

Verona were unable to kick on from Ngonge’s wondergoal as they fell behind again and had to call on their star again in the seventh minute of added time as he set up Thomas Henry’s last-gasp equaliser.

The point wasn’t enough for Hellas to climb out of the relegation zone as they remain a point behind Empoli and two points behind Sunday’s opponents Udinese.

Ngonge previously revealed in the summer that he dreams of playing for Arsenal, though no move seemed on the cards at the time, his recent stunner could put him on the radar of Mikel Arteta.

Previously speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Ngonge said: “My dream has always been to play for Arsenal. But now I’m in Italy, I love it so I might even want to stay. Just kidding, of course.”
