Manchester United icon Gary Neville has admitted that he no longer wants to work on matches for his former side.

Neville – who played the entirety of his career with the Red Devils – said he's grown tired of watching the struggling side following their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle this past weekend. The loss at St James' Park condemned Erik ten Hag's team to a sixth league defeat and a 10th overall in all competitions as their fortunes continue to dwindle.

The next month for the club could make-or-break their season as clashes against Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich await them.

The 48-year-old didn't pull any punches when opening up on 'The Gary Neville Podcast' about his disappointment with United's recent performances. Neville often works as a pundit or co-commentator on United games but his enthusiasm to watch his side is waning. "It's well below par, it's really disappointing," he said.

"I feel like we're in a cycle of the noise against the manager is starting to occur. There is the same noises that say 'Well surely we can't get rid of another manager, we've got to get rid of the players because they are the ones that got rid of the other managers'."

The former England international admitted that he's "bored" of the cycle the club seems to be in and stated: "I've become tired of my own club".

"I don't want to do their games anymore, I don't want to watch their games anymore," he added. "That is the saddest indictment that you can have of your football club, when you become bored of watching them, when you become tired of watching them. And it's not just me, a couple of people in the last couple of weeks [have said] 'enough's enough'."
