{"id":297495,"date":"2023-12-08T10:24:24","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T10:24:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=297495"},"modified":"2023-12-08T10:24:24","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T10:24:24","slug":"angry-fans-claim-that-ian-maatsens-career-at-chelsea-is-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/angry-fans-claim-that-ian-maatsens-career-at-chelsea-is-over\/","title":{"rendered":"Angry fans claim that Ian Maatsen&apos;s &apos;career at Chelsea is OVER&apos;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Angry fans claim that Ian Maatsen&#8217;s &#8216;career at Chelsea is OVER&#8217; after full-back commented on Sofyan Amrabat&#8217;s Instagram post after Man United&#8217;s 2-1 victory over the Blues &#8211; when he was snubbed as a substitute<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chelsea fans have lashed out at Ian Maatsen&#8217;s recent Instagram comment\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Blues full-back responded to a post by Man United&#8217;s Sofyan Amrabat\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mauricio Pochettino has so much work to do with woeful Chelsea &#8211; It&#8217;s All Kicking Off\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Chelsea fans have claimed that Ian Maatsen&#8217;s career at the club &#8216;is over&#8217; after the full-back&#8217;s recent actions on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Blues are still recovering from their disappointing 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday night, where Scott McTominay&#8217;s brace sealed a win for the hosts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea looked as though they might get back into the match when Cole Palmer drew them level in the first-half but, for the Blues, it wasn&#8217;t to be.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Most of Manchester United&#8217;s players took to social media to revel in the victory, including midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Moroccan international thanked fans with an Instagram post but would&#8217;ve been surprised to see one of Chelsea&#8217;s travelling players also in his comment section.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/08\/09\/78729517-12840887-image-a-1_1702028171706.jpg\" height=\"439\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea fans have claimed that Ian Maatsen&#8217;s career at the club &#8216;is over&#8217; after the full-back&#8217;s recent actions on social media<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/08\/09\/78729515-12840887-image-a-2_1702028174933.jpg\" height=\"676\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Maatsen left a comment, which has now been deleted, on Sofyan Amrabat&#8217;s Instagram post &#8211; despite his side, Chelsea, falling to defeat against Amrabat&#8217;s Manchester United<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Amrabat&#8217;s post read:\u00a0Great spirit and great performance! Thanks for the amazing support&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, Chelsea&#8217;s Maatsen initially commented a &#8216;fire emoji&#8217; and a &#8216;saluting emoji&#8217; in response to Amrabat&#8217;s post, before swiftly deleting it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It lead to a number of Chelsea fans lambasting the former Burnley loanee and claiming that his days at the club are numbered.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One account posted: &#8216;Safe to say Ian Maatsen&#8217;s career at Chelsea is now over.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Ian Maatsen commenting on a post made by Sofyan Amrabat about United winning yesterday. Absolute joke&#8217;, another user said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It must be a mistake from Ian Maatsen or his social media team, surely, as I&#8217;m hoping players read the room in situations like this and stay away from stuff like this,&#8217;
