{"id":298092,"date":"2023-12-14T14:24:14","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T14:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=298092"},"modified":"2023-12-14T14:24:14","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T14:24:14","slug":"billericay-towns-former-millionaire-owner-is-on-the-run-from-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/billericay-towns-former-millionaire-owner-is-on-the-run-from-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Billericay Town&apos;s former millionaire owner is on the run from police"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Billericay Town&#8217;s former millionaire owner Glenn Tamplin, who signed Premier League stars to non-league, is on the run from police over cocaine and community order arrest warrants<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Former Billericay Town owner Glenn Tamplin is on the run from police<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He brought Jamie O&#8217;Hara and Jermaine Pennant to the non-league club<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Manchester United fans must be DREADING Anfield trip &#8211; It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Non-league club Billericay Town&#8217;s former millionaire owner Glenn Tamplin is on the run from police.<\/p>\n<p>Tamplin, 57, who made his fortune in the steel industry, failed to comply with a community order between October 19 and November 4 last year, before failing to show up to St Albans Magistrates Court earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>He then had a second arrest warrant issued in October for possession of cocaine back in May.<\/p>\n<p>Hertfordshire Police have confirmed they are looking for Tamplin following the arrest warrants being issued.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the police force confirmed: &#8216;A warrant was issued by St Albans Magistrates\u2019 Court on 12 July 2023 for failing to comply with the requirements of a community order between 19 October 2022 and 4 November 2022.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/13\/78960069-12864005-image-m-44_1702561006525.jpg\" height=\"579\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Billericay Town&#8217;s former millionaire owner Glenn Tamplin (pictured) is on the run from police<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/13\/78959613-12864005-Tamplin_was_the_Billericay_Town_owner_from_2016_until_leaving_th-a-4_1702561902370.jpg\" height=\"525\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tamplin was the Billericay Town owner from 2016 until leaving the club in 2019<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;A warrant was also issued by St Albans Magistrates\u2019 Court on 3 October 2023 for possession of a controlled Class A drug (cocaine) on 9 May 2023.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Tamplin took over as Billericay&#8217;s owner in December 2016, and proceeded to entice former Premier League stars Jamie O&#8217;Hara and Jermaine Pennant to the club with his \u00a340m fortune after being named the second most powerful person in the Essex Power 100.<\/p>\n<p>Tamplin caused a stir in 2018 when he told O&#8217;Hara&#8217;s then-fianc\u00e9e\u00a0Elizabeth-Jayne Tierney: &#8216;You can do so much better than him&#8217;, after visiting her to drop off the footballer&#8217;s wages while he was away with friends in Ibiza.<\/p>\n<p>He later sent a separate WhatsApp message that read: &#8216;Let me know if I can show you what you\u2019re missing.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Tierney was shocked by Tamplin&#8217;s behaviour with friends claiming she made it clear to him that he had acted inappropriately.
