Moises Caicedo joins list of 10 most expensive transfers

Chelsea duo Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are starting to look fed-up with their team-mates, according to Aston Villa icon Gabby Agbonlahor. Both players signed for Chelsea this year but have been unable to turn their side’s fortunes around, with the Blues winning just five of their 16 Premier League matches this term.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly splashed out £107million to sign Fernandez from Benfica in January, before handing Brighton a fee that could rise to £115m in exchange for Caicedo in the summer. And Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “[They’re] not value for money because the amount they spent on them, but Caicedo and Fernandez are top, top players.

“But they are too inconsistent. When you watch them they look like they’re getting a bit frustrated. They win the ball back and give it to [Cole] Palmer. Palmer counter-attacks, you’ve got [Nicolas] Jackson and [Mykhaylo] Mudryk. They’re so erratic up front and it must be frustrating for midfielders.”

Chelsea have fallen to 12th in the Premier League table and appear to have no hope of breaking into the top four as they already find themselves 14 points adrift of the Champions League qualification places. A week ago Pochettino’s team were defeated 1-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford, before losing 2-0 at Everton on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ian Wright has pointed the finger directly at Fernandez and Caicedo. “The fact is Pochettino and Chelsea, for me, are playing worse than [Manchester] United, and I’m not saying that disrespectfully,” the former Arsenal striker said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“When you look at them, their organisation and the way they’re playing. You’ve got two midfielders in there, £200million worth of midfielder that are being walked through. What is going on?”
