Listen to the debate on It&#8217;s All Kicking Off\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fulham manager Marco Silva has risked an FA suspension following his criticism of referee Samuel Barrott.<\/p>\n<p>Silva&#8217;s side lost 3-0 away to Newcastle, with all three goals coming after the dismissal of Fulham&#8217;s Raul Jimenez in the 22nd minute.<\/p>\n<p>According to Silva, Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles should have been punished for an elbow on Jimenez before the striker was sent off.<\/p>\n<p>Barrott was taking charge of just his eighth Premier League match and Silva stated that the Premier League should appoint referee who have more experience and can handle pressure.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Silva said:\u00a0&#8216;Disappointing afternoon. It was probably the quiet game Newcastle needed after the midweek Champions League game. It wasn&#8217;t our fault, the quiet game in the end.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79040785-12872171-image-a-1_1702753479603.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fulham boss Marco Silva has risked an FA suspension after criticising referee\u00a0Samuel Barrott<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/16\/19\/79041287-12872171-image-m-3_1702755153547.jpg\" height=\"359\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fulham lost 3-0 to Newcastle, with the goals coming after Raul Jimenez was sent off<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Before the red card it was a clear elbow from [Jamaal] Lascelles. He knew Raul was there. The elbow out. Until the 21st minute [in] all the moments, the referee didn&#8217;t give us one foul. For Newcastle, it was a free-kick every time.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Silva suggested that Barrott was unable to cope to handle the pressure of the home supporters at St James&#8217; Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;These types of games, the referee has to have the ability to handle the pressure because always with the home crowd. The Premier League should decide [upon] a referee with the experience and ability to handle pressure. This is the best example of a referee who doesn&#8217;t have the experience to handle the pressure. Any doubt, any foul, he didn&#8217;t give one. Even the elbow in the face of Raul.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Jimenez was shown a yellow card after catching Sean Longstaff but was then sent off following a VAR check.<\/p>\n<p>Silva suggested that a booking would have been the correct punishment.<\/p>\n<p>He said:\u00a0&#8216;He lost the momentum to go in but it&#8217;s not something serious. He jumped into the player but you don&#8217;t see something serious, something wrong with the other player. A yellow is right. VAR is trying to find all these moments to give. To justify their job?
