Plymouth Argyle star Ben Waine opted for a more modern fancy dress option of choice for the Championship side's Christmas party – by going as TikTok goalie Cal The Dragon.

On Saturday afternoon, Waine and co dramatically defeated Rotherham United 3-2, with Morgan Whittaker netting in the 96th minute to seal a huge three points the Pilgrims at Home Park. And, with three points in the bag, and no upcoming midweek action on the cards, that then meant Plymouth could enjoy their Christmas party, which featured a trip to Alexandra Palace to watch the Paddy Power World Darts Championship.

Hopping on the train up to London from Plymouth, Argyle's players all got into the party spirit by wearing fancy dress. Batman, Scooby Doo, Velma, Ozzy Osbourne and the Hulk all made an appearance, but it was Waine's outfit that caught the eye on social media.

A video posted to X, formerly Twitter, showed 22-year-old forward Waine dressed up as Cal The Dragon of TikTok fame. While initially it was believed to be goalkeeper Mike Cooper who had donned the outfit, which included a red bandana and a long-sleeved yellow shirt, it was later confirmed to be Waine.

Cal The Dragon, also known as Callum Whitworth, has 2million followers on TikTok and over 500,000 followers on Instagram with his football content usually seeing him between the sticks making saves – or at least attempting to.
