Miro shocked the wrestling world when he made his AEW Dynamite debut and linked up with Kip Sabian as well as Penelope Ford. The Bulgarian wrestler, formerly known as Rusev in WWE, will be part of a scripted storyline in which he will be Sabian’s best man in his upcoming wedding with Ford.
The popular wrestler even fired shots at WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon with a scathing promo in which he stated: “Ten years in the same house with the same glass ceiling and an imaginary brass ring.
“You can take that brass ring and shove it up your a*s. My name is Miro! I am Elite!”

And based on what we have seen in his last six years in WWE, we can’t rule out The Bulgarian Brute becoming the face of All Elite Wrestling.

AEW is not short of star quality within their ranks as they have the likes of Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, MJF and many more who are more than capable to claim the top spot.
However, Miro has shown qualities similar to the likes of Daniel Bryan as well as Becky Lynch and should AEW learn from WWE then the 35-year-old grappler could reach great heights in Tony Khan’s promotion.
Bryan and Lynch were forgotten in the sidelines until they decided to take risks with their characters and pushed the envelope as heels.
The star duo did such a great job that they got the loudest cheers from the crowd when they were supposed to be booed out of the building.
Only a select few wrestlers have managed that before Bryan and Lynch, such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, the nWo, CM Punk and, of course, Miro.
It all started on the Bulgarian bruiser’s first year in WWE when he teamed up with his now wife Lana and went on to enjoy a year-long undefeated streak, which saw him becoming US Champion, until he suffered his first ever loss at the hands of WWE legend John Cena at WrestleMania 31.
The crowd was already buying into the duo of Rusev and Lana, mainly thanks to how well they handled themselves when they shared the ring with the likes of Cena, The Rock, Roman Reigns and other stars.
A few years later the power couple teamed up with Aiden English, who performed as their personal ring announcer, and introduced the popular Rusev Day catch phrase.
Miro performed as an arrogant wrestler who claimed everything was about him and went as far as to create a date commemorating himself – only that day took place every day.
Despite his character’s pompous attitude he still managed to get the loudest cheers and soon the WWE Universe demanded to see the popular heavyweight being crowned WWE Champion.
Miro’s moment in the sun never came but the three-time US Champion remained professional and continued to put together some stunning performances in the ring.
The ex-NXT superstar has also found a way to reach a far greater audience via Twitch as well as social media and handles himself perfectly when interacting with media outlets from around the world.
Miro’s in-ring skills combined with his popularity within various different media platforms make him a unique competitor, so it is safe to assume he won’t stay as Sabian’s best man forever.
In fact, Miro could indeed be on his way to becoming an even bigger superstar than what he ever thought he could be in WWE.
