WWE superstars Rey Mysterio and Dana Brooke will miss WrestleMania 36 as they have gone into quarantine amid coronavirus fears. WrestleMania will go ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic which has led to other major sports franchises like the NBA, NHL, MLS, Premier League and UEFA postponing their season until further notice.
This came out of nowhere
However, WWE still had to make some major changes as they removed the event from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida where the Show of Shows will be taped tonight and tomorrow behind closed doors as part of a two-night event that will air on April 4 and 5.
Vince McMahon’s promotion also had to make some last-minute changes to the match card as Brooke and Mysterio have been holed up in self isolation amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.
Mysterio was linked with a Fatal-4 Way Match for the US Championship against Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo and title-holder Andrade.

But any potential plans have been scrapped as the US Champion is now set to team up with Garza and challenge RAW Tag Team Champions Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford of The Street Profits.
Brooke was scheduled to be part of a Six-Pack Challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship as she would battle Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans, Tamina, Naomi and title-holder Bayley.

- WWE Hall of Fame and NXT TakeOver plans as WrestleMania moves
The publisher and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer confirmed the news and added that WWE are still going ahead with the show.
Meltzer said: “This came out of nowhere. There were a lot of different ideas, multiple different ideas for US title match.
“From last week, the main idea was probably going to be Andrade and Rey. Rey is also in quarantine so he’s off the show. You’ve got to be safe rather than sorry for sure.
“Dana Brooke was in the match, she is now out of the match. She’s in quarantine right now. They don’t want to take any chances. They pulled her from the match because she’s sick. They are concerned, so there you go. She’s in quarantine.”

Questions have been raised about the safety measures WWE have undertaken as the performers will obviously not be adhering to any social distancing rules during the event.
The wrestling giants have confirmed that they have taken precautions as they do not allow anyone to enter their training facilities until they participate in some essential medical screenings.
It has also been reported that a limited amount of staff are allowed at the Performance Center and many others are locked down in a hotel in Orlando when they are not part of filming.
WWE announced: “In consultation with WWE Medical Director Dr. Maroon, WWE Associate Medical Director Dr. Dugas and ringside physician Dr. Westerfield, as a best practice and precautionary measure all WWE performers and staff are required to participate in medical screenings prior to entering WWE’s training center, which is now operating as a closed set.”
