Tyson Fury sticking with £7 Asda Crocs and packed lunches despite £165m windfall

Tyson Fury’s footsteps are paved in gold… and trod with £7 Asda crocs.

The Gypsy King has raked in a King’s ransom, thanks to his ‘Battle of the Baddest’ clash against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia. He will reportedly pocket around £165m from fighting the former MMA heavyweight world champion.

He is now in the enviable position of being able to afford close to anything he wants. However, when it comes to shoes and lunches, his tastes are rather simple.

“I believe I have just signed the biggest deal in British boxing history,” Fury said to the Sun. “I am not allowed to talk about numbers but the bag is big, mother-f***ing big.

“It blows all the football deals that Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo have done out of the water. It is big, big, big. “But I have made big money before and it doesn’t change me.

“I still have my wife’s packed lunches and my rip-off Crocs from Asda. I love my wife’s cooking, she has to pack my sandwiches for my packed lunches whenever I travel at home.”

After Ngannou, Fury is set to take on Oleksandr Usyk on December 23 for the undisputed heavyweight championship. However, Fury has his eye on a far more lucrative goal – lets just say, his other half Paris will be able to make the most expensive packed lunches of all time if he achieves it.

“I want to top the Forbes rich list,” he said. “And I think I will do that at the end of this year or next. I want to be the No1 earner in all of sports and that is all I want to do next, my only goal now.

“Conor earned a lot of money out of his career, fair play to the man, he did well. But I am going to top that sports list next and now I have that goal set in my mind, everyone else is f***ed.”
