Arsenal ‘ahead of’ Man Utd and Chelsea to sign ‘next Sancho’ Bynoe-Gittens

Arsenal are reportedly ahead of Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle in the race for ‘the next Jadon Sancho’ Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger recently signed a new deal with the Bundesliga club but has been attracting interest from Premier League sides.

According to German newspaper BILD, Arsenal are ‘above all’ in pursuit of the young Englishman, who like his fellow countryman Sancho, has thrived at Signal Iduna Park. Mikel Arteta is said to be a great admirer of Bynoe-Gittens and is keen to bring him on board in order to provide further depth to his front line.

The Gunners are in the market for a new right winger to provide cover for Bukayo Saka. Although Bynoe-Gittens is predominantly deployed on the left for Dortmund he can also play on the right.

Bynoe-Gittens recently put pen to paper on a new deal with the German side, which is set to expire in 2028. BVB are said to be reluctant to sell but could be tempted by a large sum of money.

Dortmund have a track record of producing top-quality English talents including Jude Bellingham and Sancho. Both players went through the academy system in England, like Bynoe-Gittens, but established themselves on the world stage in Dortmund’s yellow and black strip.

Bellingham has enjoyed a fruitful start to life at Real Madrid since being sold by BVB in the summer for £88.5million, scoring ten goals in as many games in all competitions. However, the same can’t be said for Sancho, who was banished from Manchester United’s first-team squad last month after a public falling-out with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

Sancho was left out of United’s squad for a trip to the Emirates Stadium on September 1. Ten Hag told English media that he had not been picked due to “poor training performances”.

Sancho took exception to his manager’s comments and disputed his claims in a lengthy statement uploaded to his social media channels. He would eventually take down the post but after reportedly refusing to apologise to Ten Hag he was demoted to the Under-21s as punishment. It remains unclear whether Sancho can regain his place in Ten Hag’s side.
