Masked rapper claiming to be Premier League ace hints at real identity

Mysterious rapper Dide has dropped the biggest hint about his real identity in his first televised interview.

The musician, who has taken social media by storm, claims to be a Premier League footballer. And with the mystery surrounding his true identity rife, he has racked up an impressive 2.3 million views on YouTube since releasing debut music video “Thrill”.

So far the star has kept his identity hidden with an intricate rose-decorated mask, baggy albeit designer clothing, and black gloves to mask his hands. But an interview with Sky has given fans an insight into who the rapper could be.

His slight London accent has already led fans to speculate who it might be. Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Noni Madueke, Alex Iwobi and Wilfried Zaha.

The musician’s 5ft10in frame has also been listed as a possible clue as to who Dide might really be. Speaking to Sky, he has given some clues that could lead sleuths to working out who he is.

Dide claimed Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium has the best changing rooms in the Premier League, before adding that Luton Town’s humble Kenilworth Road had the worst. So far only four clubs have played at Kenilworth Road this season.

It suggests Dide could play for either West Ham, Burnley, Wolves and Tottenham. However, Sky says it spoke to Dide on Sunday, October 22, around 30 minutes before West Ham played at Villa Park, meaning he is unlikely to be a Hammer.

The Primary candidate currently appears to be Cardiff City midfielder Sheyi Ojo. Although currently on loan at K.V. Kortrijk in Belgium, he has played at Kenilworth Road this year.

The 26-year-old former Liverpool midfielder made eight appearances in the Premier League in the 2015/16 season. Dide also told Sky how Eden Hazard was the best player he faced.

Ojo made his debut for Liverpool in 2016, before Hazard’s 2019 move to Real Madrid. Fans also believe a tattoo Dide has on his wrist bears a resemblence to one Ojo has.

Commenting on his appearance, Dide says the rose mask is because of his love for rose gold. He also says the name Dide is a clue to his real identity.

He said: “As the music comes out, it will kind of make sense… Maybe I might reveal myself in the future. Who knows?”

For now however, fans will have to continue to guess who Dide really is.
