Lance Stroll has been branded 'embarrassing’ by F1 fans who hit out at his spat with a trainer and X-rated interview after he was knocked out in Q1 of qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix.
Stroll has had a nightmare season to date, with his team-mate Fernando Alonso looking in a completely different league to the Canadian. And Stroll’s woes got even worse in Qatar as he was knocked out of qualifying in Q1 for the 65th time of his career.
The Aston Martin driver could only record a time good enough to see him qualify in P17 for Sunday’s Grand Prix and his frustrations were obvious as he went on a rampage in the team’s garage – seemingly shoving a team-mate – and during a subsequent TV interview.

Stroll was interviewed by Sky Sports as the rest of the grid continued in Q2 and Q1. The 24-year-old was asked to sum up his emotions following his exit, simply replying: “Yeah, s***.” The shocked interviewer was forced to apologise for Stroll’s language after he spat his dummy out, although the driver didn’t look a bit apologetic.
He was later asked what wasn’t clicking for him behind the wheel, seeing a blunt response of “I don’t know.” In possibly the worst interview ever in F1 history, Stroll was finally asked what the qualifying result meant for his and the team’s preparations for Sunday, Stroll snapped back “Keep driving,” before he turned and stormed off.

Stroll’s reaction inevitably garnered huge backlash on Twitter, with one fan commenting: “Such a spoilt brat.” A second said: “The sport is done with him.” The interview came shortly after Stroll was seen in a confrontation with his personal trainer, where he appeared to shove him at the back of the Aston Martin garages.
It was a disastrous day for Stroll with both incidents major talking points, another fan commented: “Stroll should be sacked. Aggression against a co-worker is wrong, whatever business you are in. Also behaved like a spoilt brat in his media interview. Maybe he has finally realised he is not good enough.”
While another said: “Shoving his trainer and *that* post-qualifying interview does Lance Stroll no favours. At this stage is there anyone actually left with any sympathy for him? Embarrassing to watch.”
Stroll’s qualifying performance looked even bleaker as Alonso was able to qualify in P4 for the Grand Prix after McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris both had fast laps deleted for track limit infringements.
