Arsenal fans rage as Kiwior goal disallowed for offside – despite being onside

Arsenal fans have been left furious after Jakub Kiwior's header was chalked off by VAR – despite being onside.

The Gunners have progressed to the knockout stages of the Champions League despite being held in the Netherlands by PSV on Thursday evening. However, Arsenal fans are sure they should have won the clash when their Polish defender climbed the highest from a free-kick.

Kiwior's header initially stood – but a VAR checked revealed Gabriel had wondering into an offside position. The Brazilian didn't touch the ball, but he did make a movement towards the free-kick when the ball was whipped into the box.

Leandro Trossard also had a chance to win the game late on for the Gunners, but the PSV defence held firm.

"I think it's very positive," Mikel Arteta said after the full-time whistle. "We have competed very, very well despite not having experience.

"We had some big results and big experiences. Overall finishing first with a game to play we have to be really happy. We have to now close that chapter until February."
