Arturo Vidal has slammed Erik ten Hag and claims the Manchester United manager ‘made a mess’ by deciding to axe Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ten Hag has come under fire after United’s poor start to the new season, although he relieved some of the pressure by guiding his side to a 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday evening.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, had his contract terminated by United last November after he gave an interview to Piers Morgan in which he slammed the club’s hierarchy and Ten Hag’s management.
The 38-year-old scored 24 goals in his first season back at United and Vidal claims Ten Hag made a huge error by forcing the Portugal international out of Old Trafford.
‘The worst thing is that they applauded Ten Hag when he took out Cristiano,’ Vidal said during his recent Twitch stream.
‘No, that coach came in badly. How are you going to get Cristiano Ronaldo out? That’s how these idiots are, suddenly that’s why the coaches arrive and can make a mess. Terrible.
‘I don’t know how they think, but take Cristiano out? Cristiano was the scorer and they take him out.’
Vidal then added, ‘bald people are very complicated’, which has been perceived as a dig at Jorge Sampaoli, who was his manager during his time at Flamengo.
The midfielder, who now plays for Athletico Paranaense, had his contract cancelled with Flamengo earlier this year.
‘I got stuck with a loser coach who did not know how to appreciate his players,’ Vidal said of Sampaoli after his Flamengo exit in July.
