Chelsea are understood to be exploring a shock move for Manchester City starlet Cole Palmer. The 21-year-old winger has made a fine start to the campaign after netting in the Community Shield and UEFA Cup but still, he is finding opportunities in the Premier League hard to come by.
Pep Guardiola has been unable to promise him minutes particularly after tying Bernardo Silva down to a new contract and the Spaniard will feel obliged to reward the Portugal international’s loyalty moving forward.
But Palmer is now at the stage of his career where he wants to be out on the pitch, particularly after making such a positive impact against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium and Sevilla in Athens.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are now looking into a left-field deal for the highly-rated talent.
Mauricio Pochettino is looking for a creative wide player that can also operate as a No.10.
The Blues had been close to landing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace but the Frenchman instead decided to sign a new contract with the Eagles.
