Dover Athletic defender Peter Ojemen suffered a serious head injury during his side’s 2-0 defeat away to Yeovil Town.
The incident occured in the 20th minute of the National League South encounter and the 22-year-old was rushed to hospital.
Ojemen was carried off on a stretcher but was conscious after receiving treatment for nine minutes.
Hosts Yeovil went on to win the match and extend their lead at the top of the table to to six points thanks to a brace by Sonny Cox.
Dover confirmed after the match Ojemen was in hospital to undergo further scans and tests before thanking the medical staff who came to his aid.

‘Peter Ojemen is well and in hospital awaiting the relevant scans and tests,’ the post on X read.
‘We’d like to thank the staff and paramedics for their help and quick response during the game
‘Wishing you a speedy recovery Pete’.
Yeovil replied: ‘Everyone at Yeovil Town Football Club wishes Peter all the best during his recovery.’
Fans from both clubs were also quick to wish Ojemen well, with one writing: ‘Hope you recover quickly Peter and soon back playing . All the best from @YTFC fan’.
Another said: ‘Glad he’s ok. Couldn’t really see what happened from where we were but never like to see a player even from the opposition down like that. Hope he has a speedy recovery’.
