Fiorentina respond as Manchester United finally make Sofyan Amrabat offer

Manchester United’s opening proposal to sign Sofyan Amrabat on loan has been turned down by Fiorentina.

After a summer of speculation, United finally made their move for the Morocco star on Wednesday afternoon.

The Red Devils have been desperately trying to raise funds through player sales, in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

That has proven difficult, with Harry Maguire rejecting a move to West Ham and the club failing to receive what they deem to be suitable offers for Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.

United have therefore attempted to sign Amrabat on loan, rather than meet Fiorentina’s £30m asking price for the midfielder.

But Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Serie A club have turned down United’s bid and are ‘holding firm’ over getting a fee for Amrabat.

It’s said United’s offer arrived in the ‘last hours’ and that Galatasaray have also made a move for the Morroccan.

Should Fiorentina remain resolute in their stance, United will desperately have to offload players to raise the cash needed to purchase Amrabat.

The midfielder is desperate to join the club and has received assurances from Erik ten Hag that a deal will go through.
