Gary Neville has inisisted that Liverpool are more likely to win the Premier League than Tottenham, but they are in need of a holding midfielder to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City.
Liverpool are currently sat fourth in the table with five wins, two draws and a loss, but have experimented with playing Alexis MacAllister in a deeper midfield role.
Manchester City’s loss to Arsenal on Sunday highlighted the importance of a sitting midfielder, commonly known as a six, as the treble winners suffered without Rodri.
Meanwhile Arsenal have Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Jorginho who can all play the position.

Speaking on Sky Sports after Manchester City vs Arsenal, Neville revealed his thoughts on Liverpool’s place in the title race, their squad strengths and where he thinks they can improve.
On winning the Premier League, Neville commented: ‘They could, they’re more likely to than Spurs no doubt about that I think Liverpool have got something about them.’
The former Manchester United defender went on to access Liverpool’s various strong points and weaknesses.
Nevile insisted: ‘They’ve got an oustanding goalkeeper, that I always think will keep them in a lot of football matches and they’ve got strikers that can score goals and lots of them.
‘They’ve got a good forward line, the midfield its attacking, has it got the defensive ability of what we’ve seen here today when Rodri comes back in and when you see Rice, Partey and Jorginho.
‘Have they got that defensive stability? If you put Declan Rice in holding midfield or you put Rodri in there, I would be saying Liverpool would definitely be on for the title.
‘My question mark is whether they’ve got enough solidity in midfield, enough defensive strength and power?
‘I don’t think Liverpool will quite get there but they’re in the race there is no doubt because of their manager.
‘The manager is absolutely oustanding, he’s one of the best but I think it will be Arsenal and City again coming towards the end.’
