Inter Miami have agreed a deal to sign Luis Suarez, according to ESPN.

Suarez, 36, is currently playing for Gremio and will sign a one-year deal with an option for a second.

The deal means he will reunite will ex-Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in MLS.

As noted by ESPN, Gremio manager Renato Gaucho confirmed last month that the striker would leave the Brazilian club in December – at the conclusion of the Brazilian Serie A season.

Suarez had also previously acknowledged that the MLS side contacted his club in the middle of the year.

Since joining Brazilian side Gremio in 2022, Luis Suarez has scored 17 goals in 37 appearances

Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023, helping the Herons win the Leagues Cup

He signed a two-year contract with Gremio in December 2022, which now looks set to end early.

Meanwhile, the Herons also released forward Josef Martinez at the end of MLS’ regular season.

The striker started 20 games for Miami up front, with Suarez now set to reprise his former attacking role alongside Messi.

The pair spent six seasons together at Barcelona from 2014-20, as La Blaugrana won four league titles and one Champions League in that span.

Suarez racked up a ridiculous 146 goals in La Liga in just 191 games for Barca, and his numbers in Brazil haven’t been bad either.

Since joining Gremio last year, the Uruguayan has scored 17 goals in 37 appearances.

Messi, Busquets and Alba helped lead Miami to its first trophy in the Leagues Cup after arriving, but the team – which was last in MLS when the trio joined – ultimately failed to make the postseason.
