Joao Cancelo left fans petrified after some feared he had become ‘possessed’ during his post-match interview after he inspired Barcelona to an incredible comeback victory against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
Cancelo joined Barcelona on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City after falling out of favour with Pep Guardiola. And the Portuguese full-back has hit the ground running in Catalunya after he netted an 89th minute winner to seal a dramatic 3-2 comeback win and send Xavi’s side back to the top of La Liga.
It was Cancelo’s second goal in as many league games after previously scoring in the 5-0 rout against Real Betis. And as is customary for the match winner, he stepped in front of the cameras for his post-match interview which left fans perplexed.

As he finished answering one of the questions put to him, Cancelo pulled a bizarre face at the interviewer as she began to ask the 29-year-old another question. Seeing his eyes pop wide open and him show his teeth in an almost demonic way.
Fans on social media were left shocked at what happened to Cancelo and some believed he became ‘possessed,’ one fan said: “Bro got possessed for a second,” with a second adding: “Is he a vampire?” A third commented: “Seriously wtf is going on with Joao Cancelo in his interview after the game,” whilst a four added: “Reckon he’s yawning and trying to hide it!”

Barcelona were trailing 2-0 until the 80th minute before a four minute Robert Lewandowski brace got Barca back on level terms before Cancelo latched onto the end of Gavi’s cross to poke home in the 89th minute and seal a dramatic comeback.
But after his winning goal, Cancelo gave an honest assessment of his and the team’s lacklustre performance for the most part. He said: “I was lost in the game. I made many technical errors that are not normal in my game. I had to improve and turn things around.
“I tried to give everything until the end and we were able to come back and to win is the most important thing. If I perform, the club will love me. If not, they will kick me out."
