Harry Kane is desperate to complete ‘unfinished business’ after revealing his intention to lead England to glory on home soil at Euro 2028.
The UK and Ireland were confirmed on Tuesday as hosts of the Euros in five years, when Kane will be close to 35.
When asked if he will still be playing for England when the competition gets under way, the Bayern Munich striker responded: ‘Hopefully. I aim to be around but it is still a few years away.
‘I am a player who, at the moment, feels as good as I have ever felt before. I would like to think my career will go to my late 30s — at least.’
Asked if he has unfinished business after the disappointment of losing the Euro 2020 final to Italy on penalties, Kane added: ‘I think so. We were so close to doing something magical in the last Euros. That’s football, it didn’t end the way we wanted it to but we’ll have the bit between our teeth.
‘Not just in Germany next summer but being at home, playing games at Wembley will bring back memories of 2021. To win a tournament would be special but to win it in your home country would be a dream come true.’
