Jurgen Klopp has some good news and bad news about his squad ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Tottenham on Saturday night. Liverpool and Spurs are two of the in-form sides for the start of the Premier League season and they face off against one another in a blockbuster tie tomorrow evening.
Both managers will want a full squad to choose from with Klopp’s biggest concern being Trent Alexander-Arnold. The England international hasn’t featured since picking up an injury against Aston Villa, but he was pictured back in first-team training on Thursday.
Klopp has confirmed the full-back will likely make his return to the starting line-up for the match against Tottenham so long as he passes a late fitness test. However, the Liverpool manager stated that Stefan Bajcetic suffered a setback in his bid to return from a long injury lay-off.
“Trent trained yesterday normal,” Klopp said. “Will train today normal. We have to make a decision. It looks like he will be in the squad and play.
“Stefan had a little, little, little setback. The problem with Stefan – everyone wants to see him play more and I want to – it’s a little, little, tiny calf issue.
“That’s how it is when you’re six months out and we try everything to get him up to speed without pushing him. We make a specific plan for him but in the end it’s disappointing for him and us that he’s got another one.
“We have to take him out a little bit. He can work on pretty much everything else, but not playing. Thiago still out. Conor [Bradley] still out.”

Bajcetic made his long-awaited return from injury in the Europa League last week as Liverpool beat LASK.
He then made an appearance off the bench in the recent 3-1 victory over Leicester in the Carabao Cup.
The 18-year-old has been backed for a bright future at Liverpool having broke through to the side earlier this year.
