Assessing Man Utd's start to the Premier League season | Football Digest
Manchester United have confirmed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka faces several weeks on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Brighton. Manager Erik ten Hag has been left worryingly short in the full-back department, and the club’s update will do little to ease his concerns.
Rumours had circulated over the weekend suggesting that Wan-Bissaka could be out of action for as long as two months. United’s latest comment indicates that the right-back could indeed be out for that long, leaving Ten Hag with only two recognised full-backs for the time being.
The 25-year-old was an 85th-minute substitute against Brighton and he picked up a hamstring injury in the dying embers of the game. “Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set for a period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during the closing stages of Saturday’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion,” read a statement on United’s official website.
“The right-back came on as a substitute, having started the game on the bench after battling illness during the week. Further assessment will be needed to determine how long Wan-Bissaka will be out for, but initial indications suggest it will be several weeks.”

Diogo Dalot, a natural right-back, and emergency left-back signing Sergio Reguilon are now Ten Hag’s only senior options to flank the central defenders. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are also injured while Alex Telles, Brandon Williams and Alvaro Fernandez were allowed to leave during the summer.
Wan-Bissaka has started all but one of United’s Premier League matches this term, with the exception being against the Seagulls. The former England U21 international is among those to have shown a significant improvement under Ten Hag.

Kane has Bayern team-mate Man Utd should be just as wary of in European clash[COMMENT]
His absence will come as a cruel blow to Red Devils fans, who are desperate to see an upturn in form after a torrid start to the campaign. United have lost three of their first five matches for the first time in a Premier League season.
The likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Raphael Varane and Mason Mount have also battled injuries over the past few weeks, while Jadon Sancho and Antony are currently absent from the squad for alternative reasons.
Wan-Bissaka’s introduction against the Seagulls proved to be in vain, as United were already dead and buried on their own turf. Goals from Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro put the Red Devils three behind with 20 minutes to play.
And although substitute Hannibal Mejbri notched an impressive consolation, it was still a worrying performance from Ten Hag’s side, who face Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
