Man United and Barcelona target Vanderson has admitted to enjoying the ‘love’ big clubs are showing him.

The 22-year-old fullback has become a key player at Monaco since joining from Gremio in 2022, making 61 first team appearances already.

His performances have caught the attention of the Brazilian national side, who handed Vanderson a debut in their 4-1 win over Guinea in June.

United and Barca were both keen on bringing the right back in over the summer, although the latter club looked to persuade him to wait a year due to their financial situation.

Vanderson has now spoken out on the reports linking him with a high-profile move away from the Stade Louis-II.

In quotes carried by Dario AS, he said: ‘It’s great to hear that Barça and United love you.

‘It’s fantastic to know that your name is mentioned in the big clubs. We’re starting the season well with Monaco, now I’m focused only in that’

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag was keen to strengthen at right back but ultimately opted against a move last summer due to priorities in other areas.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears to have impressed ten Hag, and the club are now looking to offer the fullback a new contract.

It comes as a tough time for United’s defence, with Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia all unavailable through injury.

Performances have also been shaky so far, with seven conceded in the first four games of the season.

A move for Vanderson would have to wait at least until January, but fans will still be hoping for an improved defensive performance when Brighton travel to Old Trafford on Saturday.
