As the Chelsea goal celebrations began to die down, Mykhailo Mudryk’s emotions remained clear to see.
His face was briefly covered by his hands as he began his walk back to the halfway line.
And once he lowered them he looked towards the sky with an expression that was full of relief.
At the 24th attempt he had finally opened his account for Chelsea. A huge weight lifted off his shoulders.
Before he struck to open the scoring against Fulham most of his involvements were followed by a familiar song.

Mudryk is a confidence player and manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping he can build on his first goal
It must have been a satisfying moment for Mauricio Pochettino too.
With his reputation for developing talent and as a master man manager Mudryk is one of his latest projects and he has taken time to try and work out the methods required to coax the Ukranian winger’s talents out of him.
There was surely an element of pride then in Pochettino’s half-time hug for Mudryk as the team’s departed at the break.
Mudryk did not return for the second half but the first was enough for him to silence the taunts and make his mark.
