Footy fans thought Neymar's Al-Hilal debut was a charity match due to the poor quality of the Saudi Pro League.
The former PSG star, 31, came off the bench for his first appearance in the Middle East since his £77million summer transfer on Friday (September 15) night. He wasn't started by manager Jorge Jesus given he'd played 90 minutes for Brazil less than three days before.
He had a hand in two goals in Hilal's 6-1 victory over Al-Riyadh after being introduced, including assisting fellow former Barcelona star Malcom for their fourth. A clip of said goal soon went viral on social media – for all the wrong reasons.

Neymar picked the ball up inside his own half and was able to run freely forward, with only two Riyadh players back defending. He remained unchallenged before playing the ball off into acres of space, with Malcom finishing first time.
Reacting on X, one fan posted: "I thought Neymar was playing in some type of charity match for a second, this is actually the Saudi League."
A second echoed: "Man I'm glad to see Neymar playing but look at this, looks like a charity game is like no one is giving any effort lol this league is HORRIBLE."

"Midway through the dribble you can see him realise how sorry this is, f*** PSG," argued a third, while a fourth sighed: "Can’t believe Neymar actually went to Saudi, sad stuff."
A fifth commented: "Blud was running three mph and still took out three defenders. 'Top 5 league' lmao." And a sixth wrote: "I don’t wanna hear any talk about the Saudi league being better than MLS."
Neymar was also involved in a penalty fiasco when Hilal won the spot kick in stoppage time. Fans booed club legend and Saudi international Salem Al Dawsari when he didn't let his new team-mate take it.
