Olivier Giroud pulled on his keeper gloves after Mike Maignan was sent off to make a brilliant save and keep AC Milan’s 1-0 lead over Genoa in Serie A.

However the game took another chaotic turn when Milan goalkeeper Maignan saw red for a foul on Caleb Ekuban late in stoppage time and Giroud took his spot in goal after Stefano Pioli had used up all of his substitutions.
Albert Gudmundsson then crashed a free kick against the bar from the edge of the box before Giroud brilliantly denied George Puscas just before the final whistle.

The French striker was called into action to deny Puscas, diving head first at a bouncing ball and snapping up the loose ends.
In another twist Genoa also had their keeper, Josep Martinez sent off, when he was given a second yellow card for a late foul on Musah.
On the being in goal Giroud said: ‘I’ve never experienced that in my career and I’m proud of the whole team. We fought like lions.’

Milan moved two points clear at the top of the table after rivals Inter Milan threw away an early two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Bologna earlier on Saturday.
