Ruud Gullit believes things are so bad at Manchester United right now that every team is looking forward to facing them at the moment following Copenhagen’s dramatic 4-3 win over the Red Devils on Wednesday night. United are on a downward spiral that Erik ten Hag is struggling to get them out of at the moment.
Last year’s promising debut campaign at the helm of United appears to be a distant memory with their defeat to Copenhagen the latest in a long line of disappointing results. They’ve now lost three of their four Champions League group matches to leave them bottom with only two games remaining.
It’s been a similar story in the league for United as well with none of their six victories being convincing. All six wins have been by just one goal and pressure is on Ten Hag heading into this weekend for their match against Luton.
Gullit fears the worst for his compatriot and believes Luton won’t be afraid of going to Old Trafford on Saturday. “I fear big,” Gullit said on beIN SPORTS.

“When I saw him on the pitch after that, he was very calm. I feel for him. They’re gonna get hammered this whole week.
“It doesn’t look good but the thing is, as a coach, you think to yourself that first 25 minutes was excellent. I can build on that. And then something happens and then it all collapses.”

He added: “Nobody is afraid of them and everybody wants to play them because they all think they have a chance. That’s the energy you have to take care of. Every time you think they’ve stopped the bleeding by putting a plaster on it, then all of a sudden something comes out and put the plaster there [laughs].
“Today [Wednesday], again you start well and then all of a sudden something strange happens and then you are out of control.”
United are in need of a win against Luton to avoid slipping further away from the European spots. They’re already nine points behind league leaders Manchester City and six points away from the final Champions League spot.
