The appearance of a sex toy in Manchester United's dugout after a win against West Ham left fans baffled.
A Paul Pogba double curtailed the home side's 2-1 win over the Hammers in April 2019, but the Frenchman's brace wasn't the story of the day. Instead it was the discovery of a sex toy in front of Man United's bench following their victory.
The object was left at Old Trafford, not due to disgruntled West Ham fans, but in jest as fans of the east London club had used the toy as part of a long-running joke to make fun of their owners David Sullivan and the late David Gold.

Gold – who passed away in January earlier this year – initially acquired 50% of West Ham with Sullivan in 2010. The pair certainly made a lasting impression on Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho, who dubbed them the 'Dildo Brothers' after failing to sign Portuguese international William Carvalho a few years ago.
The hilarious name referenced the pair's past in the adult industry as Gold had purchased Ann Summers, a company specialising in sex toys and lingerie, while Sullivan had produced pornography and several adult magazines.

West Ham fans have previous form with sex toys. They took an inflatable penis to the London Stadium for a match against Huddersfield, as well as throwing a dildo on the pitch after Javier Hernandez scored an equaliser in their 1-1 draw against Chelsea in 2018.
While West Ham have become European champions in the four years following the loss against United, they certainly aren't laughing now as they sit a lowly ninth in the Premier League. Despite making good use of the £105million they received for Declan Rice from Arsenal by signing the likes of Mohammed Kudus, James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez, the Hammers have won just five of their 12 league games this season.

The club – who currently top their Europa League group with three wins out of four – made a promising start to their league campaign with 3-1 wins over Chelsea and Brighton. However, they've won just two of their last eight games; a run that has seen them slide down the table with important London clashes against Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham coming up.
