Man Utd players' feelings towards Jadon Sancho after latest Erik ten Hag spat
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has fielded his latest approach to return to football management for the first time since his Manchester United sack in 2021, according to reports. But the Norwegian has rejected the opportunity as he continues to wait for the right time to step foot back into the dugout.
Solskjaer has been out of a job since leaving United in November 2021 but is in no rush to return to the managerial limelight.
United lost five of their opening 12 Premier League games in his final campaign at the helm. A humiliating 4-1 defeat at Watford was the final straw.
But he restored his relationship with Red Devils supporters by filming an emotional farewell video, and the Stretford End paid tribute to the club icon with a banner after his exit.
The fanbase now eagerly awaits his next role in football, but Solskjaer has once again rebuffed an approach for his services.
Speaking to Norwegian outlet NRK, Solskjaer confirmed that the Norwegian FA contacted him about the vacant women’s national team job.
However, he admitted that he wasn’t in a position to return to management and therefore declined the approach.

He said: “Yes, I have spoken to the association about the job as national coach – of course I have it. They have asked. But I’m not ready for that yet.”
Hege Riise left her post as Norway boss after a turbulent 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Norway suffered a shock 1-0 loss to co-hosts New Zealand in their opener before a goalless draw against Switzerland – in which Riise garnered criticism for dropping star winger Caroline Graham Hansen.
Graham Hansen helped Norway to a 6-0 win over the Philippines in their final group game, but Japan cruised to a 3-1 triumph in the round of 16, dumping Riise’s side out.
The 54-year-old, who coached Team GB’s women’s football team at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, has moved into a different role at the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF).

For Solskjaer, the wait goes on until he’s comfortable with returning to the fold.
The former United and Molde boss has reportedly rejected three Premier League offers since his Old Trafford departure.
One of those linked were Leicester City after sacking Brendan Rodgers ahead of their top-flight relegation last season.
Solskjaer’s preferences for a comeback remain to be seen, but interest in his coaching services isn’t going away.
