The final whistle goes to bring a quite extraordinary game to an end as Chelsea celebrate a 4-1 victory over nine-man Spurs. Pochettino’s side failed to kill off the game and were nearly pegged back, Dier having a goal disallowed before both Bentancur and Son went close, but the visitors finally put the result to bed in added time, Jackson netting twice to secure his hat-trick and a 4-1 victory. Spurs’ unbeaten start is over, but their fans will be encouraged by a brave display in very tough circumstances. They remain second, a point off leaders Manchester City, while Chelsea move up to the top half. Both teams are in Premier League action next weekend, with Postecoglou’s men taking on Wolves at Molineux on Saturday before Chelsea host City the following day.
