Firebrand duo Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm will lead Europe into Ryder Cup battle in Rome today (Fri).
The pair will head out in the opening foursomes match against Team USA at Marco Simone, as Luke Donald's men look to win back the trophy. And Donald has trusted volatile duo Hatton and Rahm to kick-start the challenge of trying to put Europe's first points on the board.
Hatton and Rahm will take on American duo Scottie Scheffler and rookie Sam Burns. Hatton is hellbent on revenge for Europe's thrashing at Whistling Straits in 2021 and he said: "Ultimately deep down, you want to get some revenge. We've a fantastic team and will be trying our best to make that happen."

New sensation Ludvig Aberg has been thrust straight into the action – and is paired with Viktor Hovland in the second match against US rookies Brian Harman and Max Homa. The third game will see Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka face Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa.
Donald will be hoping he's saved his best for last, with Rory McIlroy teaming up with Tommy Fleetwood in a bid to take down rivals Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay in the final game of the morning. And Donald told his "fearless" gladiators to go out and make history in Rome.

He said: "Tyrrell and John are fiery characters. I think their personalities match up, the statistics point towards a very strong partnership.
"I would say they're very fearless. They're extremely good golfers. The atmosphere in the team room is fantastic. They're motivated. There's a lot of good energy. Everyone feels like they're playing well. So I'm very excited."

But I know Brooks well enough to know that he's very secure in himself, and I know that his 11 teammates are very secure in him. That's all that's important."
