Ryder Cup star Sam Burns has candidly revealed he was doing a poo when he got the call-up to Team USA.
Burns, 27, opened up on how he learned he'd be heading out to Rome ahead of kicking off the competition alongside close pal Scottie Scheffler as they take on Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton in the opening foursomes clash on Friday (September 29).
He perhaps offered up a little too much information about the exact moment captain Zach Johnson invited him to represent his nation at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club this week.

“So much is going on, while I’m on the phone with him I'm trying to wipe, and get out of there, and also tell (his wife) Caroline. It was really cool. That's real life right there."
Burns, who was one of Johnson's six captain's picks, has fully embraced his first Ryder Cup appearance by shaving 'USA' into the side of his mullet – emulating Rickie Fowler's hair-do for the 2014 event.
He'll be hoping the result isn't the same as it was nine years ago at Gleneagles in Scotland as the defending champions aim to win on European soil for the first time in 30 years.
