The father of Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale has hit out at Jamie Carragher after the Liverpool icon took another swipe at his son.
Ramsdale was dropped to the bench for the third game in a row against Tottenham on Sunday and watched on as replacement David Raya made a couple of noteworthy stops. After the Spaniard impressively clawed a Brennan Johnson shot off the line the cameras panned to Ramsdale, who was seen applauding his team-mate.
Carragher, who last week insisted that the Gunners "would never win the title with Ramsdale in goal", accused the England man of acting up for the cameras, comparing his reaction to an actor who had just come up short at the Oscars. "I thought it was like the Oscars," the Sky Sports pundit said after the game.

"You know when someone loses the Oscar and they start clapping and smiling for the other person. I was laughing when I saw that," Carragher continued. "He's absolutely devastated with that really."
However, Ramsdale's dad, Nick, swiped back on X (formerly Twitter), writing: "You are a Disgrace!! Show some class!! My lad has."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who last week suggested was open to the idea of rotating his goalkeepers during matches, praised Ramsdale for his reaction to being dropped. Speaking after the derby, he said: "He has been very supportive and really good around the place and that is what I expect from every single player as when you are on the field, there is someone else who is not. So it goes both ways. So far he has been really, really good.
"Aaron is an exceptional character, he has got this charisma and this aura around him, and we all know that and I fully understand that. It happens with many other players, you see the reception Emile got the other night and it's sending a message that we really like him and I really like him, and we have to deal with that."

The spoils were shared at the Emirates, with both Arsenal and Spurs coming away from the match with their undefeated Premier League streaks intact. The home side initially took the lead after Bukayo Saka's shot deflected in off Cristian Romero, but Tottenham levelled the game just before half-time through Son Heung-min.
Saka then restored Arsenal's lead from the penalty spot after Romero handled in the box, but Ange Postecoglou's side equalised less than a minute later when James Maddison nicked the ball off Jorginho and set up Son for a second.
The result leaves Tottenham and Arsenal level on points in fourth and fifth-place respectively, and four points behind league-leaders Manchester City, who have won all six of their opening matches. Ramsdale, who joined Arsenal from Sheffield United in 2021, has been their No. 1 goalkeeper for the past two seasons, racking up 83 appearances for the club so far.
