Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly of interest to Chelsea. Bayern Munich are also claimed to be keeping an eye on the 25-year-old’s situation after he was dropped against Everton on Sunday.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta gave David Raya his debut for the Premier League match at Goodison Park. It ended a run of 52 consecutive top-flight appearances for Ramsdale.
The former Sheffield United goalkeeper had only played in England’s victory over Scotland five days earlier. Arteta played down the significance of the decision, insisting he treated his goalkeepers like any other player in his squad.
But Ramsdale would be right to feel aggrieved after signing a new contract earlier this year. And the Mail now claims Chelsea and Bayern are tracking Ramsdale ahead of a potential transfer swoop.

Chelsea signed Robert Sanchez from Brighton in the summer but are keen to strengthen in goal following the departure of Kepa Arrizabalaga. Kepa has joined Real Madrid on loan but has not hidden his desire to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Bayern, meanwhile, are looking to bring in a long-term successor to Manuel Neuer, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons. The report says a January offer would likely be rebuffed by Arsenal but it remains to be seen whether bids of £60million would be accepted next summer.
Ramsdale is a popular player with Arsenal fans and was named in the PFA Team of the Year last term. He is a regular in the England squad and earned his fourth cap against Scotland.
The contract he signed in May committed him to Arsenal until 2026, with the option of a further year. But doubts must now be raised over his long-term place in the Gunners team.

Arteta insists both his goalkeepers will get plenty of game time this season. He also raised the possibility of substituting goalkeepers during a match when he sees fit to do so.
Asked why Raya was picked over Ramsdale, Arteta said: “The same rationale that Fabio [Vieira] played here or that Eddie [Nketiah] played ahead of Gabriel Jesus. I haven’t had a single question on why Gabriel hasn’t started – he has won more trophies including me in that dressing room but they don’t [ask why].
“It is something that historically is done like this but I cannot have two players in this position and not play them. David has tremendous qualities like Aaron has and Karl [Hein] has, but we have to use them and it is like this.”
