Tottenham are set to hold talks with Nottingham Forest as they look to secure the signing of Brennan Johnson after Brentford pulled out of the race.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Brentford are currently focusing on other targets after having a bid of £43million turned down.
Tottenham have already had positive discussions with Johnson and are now looking to finalise a deal, with Forest valuing him at £50million.
Thomas Frank’s Brentford saw two previous offers, including one worth around £35million, rejected for Johnson.
Johnson’s versatility is a useful asset – he has featured as a winger, a striker and an attacking midfielder already this season.
