Roy Hodgson has recovered from illness and will be back in the dugout this weekend, Crystal Palace have announced.
The 76-year-old manager was ‘taken unwell’ last Saturday morning and subsequently missed his side’s 3-1 loss at Aston Villa.
It was not clear why exactly the former England boss was ill, but thankfully his club issued a very positive update on Tuesday.
‘We are delighted to confirm Roy Hodgson led Crystal Palace training today,’ a statement from the Eagles read.
‘The manager was absent from Saturday’s match at Villa Park but will return to the dugout for Saturday’s match against Fulham at Selhurst Park.’
Hodgson will be looking to maintain Palace’s solid start to the season against his former club, with the Eagles ninth in the Premier League with seven points from five games.
However, things are less positive on the injury front for the players, as it was also reported on Tuesday that star forward Michael Olise has suffered a setback as he recovers from a hamstring tear.
