    Ipswich Town supporters greeted their team bus with flares as Tractor Boys were welcomed to Portman Road ahead of the Old Farm Derby against Norwich.

    The derby returns after a four-year absence following Ipswich’s promotion back to the Championship last season.

    Supporters of the Tractor Boys were seen lighting flares, with smoke billowing around their team bus as it approached the stadium.

    Police were pictured controlling the crowds outside Portman Road ahead of the Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

    Kieran McKenna’s side occupy the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship and are 10 points clear of third placed Leeds.

    The Tractor Boys could move to the top of the table win a victory over Norwich in the East Anglia derby, with leaders Leicester facing Birmingham on Monday.

    Rivals Norwich are down in 11th in the Championship after an indifferent start to the season under manager David Wagner.

    Pressure has eased on Wagner in recent weeks after a recent upturn in results.

    Wagner has overseen four wins in their last six matches, with the run taking Norwich three points away from the play-off places.
