Neymar branded ‘toxic’ for petulant act as Al-Hilal draw against Uzbekistan side

Football fans have blasted Neymar on social media for his petulant behaviour during an AFC Champions League clash against a team from Uzbekistan.

Al-Hilal, who are top of the Saudi Pro League, kicked off their continental campaign on Monday evening against Navbahor.

And with the Saudi side trailing the Uzbekistani side, Neymar was seen lashing out in frustration. The Brazilian could be seen shoving over one of the Navbahor players, before he hammered the ball in his direction.

"This is why no European club was interested in him, he is so toxic! Smh," one fan fumed. A second said: "Treating a player that's probably been there for years like trash when you just got there because you're the 'star' is embarrassing!"

"This is why he was never in serious contention to be captain of PSG and why he was stripped of captaincy for Brazil," a third shared. And another added: "Who sold him? I have flowers and chocolates to send!"

Al-Hilal were able to snatch an equaliser in the 110th minute – with 14 minutes added on at the end of the game.

Three Navbahor players had all gone down at the same time with cramp and the stoppage extended almost five minutes. And their time-wasting tactics came back to bite them when Ali Albulayhi bundled the ball into the back of the net.

Aleksandr Mitrovic also turned out for Al-Hilal as they salvaged a point ahead of clashes with Iranian side Nassaji Mazandaran and Indian team Mumbai City.
