Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven is clearly excited about his team’s chances this season. Spurs maintained their unbeaten start in the Premier League with a draw at Arsenal and are well-placed to have a successful campaign under Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham came from behind twice to draw 2-2 in the north London derby. Son Heung-min grabbed a brace as Spurs continue to impress following the departure of Harry Kane.
Top four in the league will be an aim for Postecoglou, with the FA Cup the only other competition his team will be in. Van de Ven has enjoyed a fine start to life at Spurs since his £43million move from Wolfsburg in August.
He says Postecoglou has brought a no-fear approach to Tottenham and is excited about what the season will bring. Van de Ven said: “I don’t think we have fear for another team.

“It would be strange if you have fear for another team. If you go into a game and are like ‘What a team they have’ then I don’t think it is positive.
“We are building together something we want to reach this season. I think it is going really well and we help each other. We fight for each other and we have to keep that going. I think it’s maybe going to be a nice year.”
Sunday’s short trip to the Emirates was Van de Ven’s first taste of the north London derby. Spurs were worthy of a point in a match they have so often been on the wrong end of.
Van de Ven enjoyed the occasion and didn’t let the atmosphere get the better of him. He added: “It was a difficult game. Of course, Arsenal had chances. We also had chances.

“You always want more, you always want the three points. But at the end we have one point and we have to build on to Liverpool.
“It is a big game, the north London derby. Everybody talks about it when you are young and it is crazy when you are standing on the pitch.
“Everybody said it to me, that it is a real derby. Everybody said ‘This is the game’ and of course you have to play it like it is any other game but of course this is the game.
“The atmosphere was crazy at the beginning of the game. It was really nice but I had to keep the focus and play my own game and I think it went really well.”
