Liverpool had the chance to climb back to the top of the table with a win on Sunday evening, after they were knocked off their perch by Arsenal earlier in the day. Erik ten Hag's side, meanwhile, have been slipping and sliding down the table.

United were eighth ahead of kick-off, and a win could take them back into top six of the Premier League table. However, United were missing a number of key players for the clash, including: Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Casemiro.
