Tanguy Ndombele had a furious late-night bust-up with Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk after the on-loan Spurs midfielder ordered a burger at the team hotel following their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, according to reports in Turkey.

Ndombele, who remains Tottenham’s record signing at £63million, had also reportedly angered his manager by being more than 6kg overweight.

The same reports claim the 26-year-old will not be picked by Buruk until he drops his bodyweight to 75kg.

Ndombele, who signed for the Turkish giants on loan after a troubled time at Spurs, was left out of the Galatasaray squad for the 1-0 win away at Caykur Rizespor on Saturday – although it has been claimed this was because he was carrying a slight injury.

Turkish outlets Fotospor, Yenicag and Kamu Son Haber said the midfielder had been told to follow a specific diet plan in a bid to improve his fitness.

But the Frenchman is said to have infuriated Buruk by ordering a burger from the hotel menu after Galatasaray were beaten 3-1 by Bayern in the Champions League last Tuesday.

Such is the level of concern over Ndombele’s fitness that Galatasaray, who have the option to buy him for £13.1m, are reportedly considering terminating his loan.

Ndombele has played just 93 minutes of league football for the Turkish side so far this season.

Issues with his fitness were raised by Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou before the start of the campaign. The Australian told football.london that Ndombele was among the Tottenham players who were ‘a little bit physically behind the rest as well you know’.

Postecoglou added that ‘the way we play there’s a bit that I need to be strong on and that is that you’ve got to be at a certain physical level to play this kind of football’.

Ndombele has been dogged by concerns over his weight throughout his career and has regularly struggled with his fitness.

Former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho publicly called out Ndombele after hauling him off at half-time in a draw at Burnley, while ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit in 2020 also slated the midfielder and claimed he was overweight.

Galatasaray is his fourth club in four years after failed loan spells with Napoli and Lyon following his arrival at Spurs in 2019.
