TRANSFER GOSSIP: Everton wantaway Demarai Gray closes in on £8m move to Al-Ettifaq, Kasper Schmeichel pens a one-year deal with Anderlecht – and Wolves ‘join West Ham in the race for Jesse Lingard’

The summer transfer window may be a thing of the past as far as Premier League clubs are concerned, but several top flight stars are still looking for new teams with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey still able to sign players.

Davinson Sanchez, Tanguy Ndombele and Eric Bailly have all sealed moves away from the Premier League since deadline day, and more out-of-favour stars will hope to follow in pursuit of more regular first team football.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ittihad are still hotly pursuing a move for Mohamed Salah after Liverpool rejected their initial bid of £150million for the Egyptian superstar.

And there are still a handful of free agents, including Jesse Lingard and David de Gea, who have yet to find new homes.

Wolves have joined West Ham in the race to sign former Nottingham Forest midfielder Lingard. He has been training with the Hammers this summer but David Moyes wants to be sure about the player’s commitment before giving the deal the green light, which could pave way for Wolves to swoop in. Chelsea were interested in signing Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho during the summer transfer window. The Blues chiefs ultimately decided to move for Manchester City’s Cole Palmer instead as they were concerned about the 23-year-old winger’s mindset. (Mail Sport)

Joao Felix is thought to have snubbed offers from Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Manchester United in pursuit of his dream loan move to Barcelona. He also rejected a switch to Saudi Arabia before penning his deal with the LaLiga giants. (Mundo Deportivo)

AC Milan are still keenly pursuing Real Betis full-back Juan Miranda despite the close of the summer transfer window. The Serie A giants view the left-back as a strong alternative to Theo Hernandez and will attempt to sign him in January. (Calciomercato).

Barcelona only have two years left to activate Abde Ezzalzouli’s £17m buy-back clause if they wish to bring the Real Betis star back to the Nou Camp. The Catalans, who sold the 21-year-old for £6.4m, also have a 50 per cent sell-on clause attached to the deal. (Fabrizio Romano)
